The idea for mine and Harry's documentary is about comparing two different genres of music from two time periods when they were/are at their peak. We have chosen to the compare the genres of both Emo Rap and Grunge as they share many similar traits both musically and lyrically but they also have many differences from the way the lyrics are constructed and the way that the music connects with the people listening to it and I think it is a great way of showcasing the power music haves to allow people to develop such a deep emotional bond to their music or even them as a person as it shows that the passion in the way they communicate their music really connects with certain people who grow a passion for what they create and an appreciation for them as a human being. What we will need to film is interviews with two people who are of two different age groups who lived through the genre's apex and ask them questions that give a better insight into what it was like to live through a time when the artists and bands' presence in the music industry was undeniable and the following they gathered was insane in some of their cases. We will also use stock footage of bands and artists to be background footage for audio from the interviews being interjected with the footage from the interview too probably in order to get an idea of what the general demographic is for each genre as we will attempt to represent the most common audience of the genre with the choice of person that we interview. The footage we would film would be of two different people who are fans of the two opposing genres just doing daily tasks in their daily lives in order to show how people who lead regular lives and are part of society have or had a passion that was extremely strong for an artist or band that they devoted there life to a movement and in some people's cases following an artist's word whatever they say because they're that enthralled with them.
This is the proposal for the documentary which states who it is about, what it entails, what is the purpose of it, when it is centered around and how it functions as a documentary and why it is made the way it is to meet particular targets that are set to be achieved before it is fully complete.
