For task 2.1, I have researched into three media related jobs, apprenticeships and opportunities available online which interest me but are also available to be applied for currently so if I was actually looking for a job in the media industry at the moment I would be able to apply for the ones I have found, using indeed.co.uk and totaljobs.com, quite easily with little to no hassle. The order of preference for the companies with jobs that I have found online goes Vivedia, Blu Digital and Intec Select.

Video Editor- Vivedia

The company offering the video editor job is Vivedia (founded on 21st March 2006), which is a media and technology company that provide modern and innovative solutions in order to advance the technology that their clients are using to allow them to develop. The job would involve editing short personalised media products using photos, videos and music of the customer's choice while working as a part of a large team of forty people. The job would be based in South Yorkshire (Sheffield), at Unit 29 President Buildings, Savile Street E, Sheffield, S4 7UQ to be exact. The criteria for applying to the job is fast and natural computer skills, excellent communication and people skills, an eye for detail, belief in delivering the best service for customers, being able to work off of strong initiative and supporting fellow colleagues, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software such as, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) as well as other Windows-based applications and a basic understanding of computer coding would be useful but is not essential.

Also, the job requires a Bachelor's Degree as well as two years of editing experience too. For this job specifically, I would have to select the "Apply with Indeed" button at the top of the page and then type in my name, email address, phone number (optional), then attaching my media CV before pressing continue and sending my application to Vevedia through indeed.co.uk in an attempt to be considered for the job and secure an interview for it. It would allow for me to develop my editing skills massively and my ability to work in a team which would allow me to move into a career in editing at a higher level in the media industry while being able to work very well in a team in the job as I would have had the experience of doing so in this job which is based on performing well in a team setting so I would be very experienced doing exactly that already.

Junior Media Operator- Intec Select

The company offering the junior media operator job is Intec Select (founded on 6th January 2016) which works in IT recruitment as well as practicing new ways of recruiting that are more progressive and efficient which result in the right for a team in accordance to its already existing members. The job would entail viewing various different media formats, reviewing and judging technical compliance, recording detailed, technical and descriptive information into the systems, responsibility for the end to end media workflows and editing of the content created too. It would be based in Hampshire (Winchester), at Headbourne Worthy, Winchester, SO22 to be more precise about the location. To apply, I would have to have a degree or qualification that is media based, attention to detail, communication skills, problem solving ability, planning and organisation skills, ability to work under pressure and being able to manage relationships.

In order to apply for this job, I would have to click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page on totaljobs.com and then entering my email address, attaching my media CV alongside it too. Also, I would be entering details about my full name, whether I am eligible to work in the UK and EU, my highest level of education, my current/most recent job title and my current/most recent salary. The career progression opportunities the job would give include careers in media services or maybe even as a transmission controller but generally the careers that this job would lead to are ones that are based in the same lively and creativity filled environment that this job is based in.

This job of social video content video producer is being offered by Blu Digital (founded in 2013) which is a company that are a proffesional and enthusiastic about ensuring customer satisfaction. It would be based in London (South East of England) at City Tower, 40 Basinghall Street, London, EC2V 5DE which is the address of the London office of the company. The criteria for applying would include being passionate about video content and video editing, being able to produce content to a good standard from the conception of the idea until its eventual completion and having a strong background working with social media such as Facebook and Instagram.

To apply for the job, I would have to click on the "Apply On Company Site" button on indeed.co.uk which would take you to the job page on the official Blu Digital website (blu-digital.co.uk) where I would click on either of the "Apply Today" buttons and enter my full name, email address and phone number, attaching my media CV as well before pressing the "Submit Query" button to send it to the company.
