During this week, I completed all the work for unit 11 that I had left to finish as well as attending a Student Representative via Microsoft Teams with Riane as we are the representatives of Group B in Year Two. However, for task 2.1 and task 2.2 of unit 11, the first task involved researching into three media related jobs, apprenticeships or opportunities available online and answering questions about them which involved the company and its background, where the job would be geographically based, what the criteria would be to apply for the job, the process you would have to go through to apply for the job and the career progression opportunities it offers as a result of having the job.
The three jobs I found online, using indeed.co.uk and totaljobs.com, were a Video Editor job for Vivedia, a Social Video Content Producer job for Blu Digital and a Junior Media Operator job for Intec Select all of which I analysed by answering the five questions mentioned above and in the brief as well. Then, for the second task I listed and summarised the media related work experience that I have done over the last two years while on this course, as well as the enrichment (trips, lectures, tours etc.) that I have been lucky enough to be present for. The work experience I have partaken in includes working as a runner and actor/extra for New Wave Short Films on a shoot for TuitionKit Adverts (February 2019) and as a camera operator for Unique Media TV at the British Rowing Junior Championships 2019 (July 2019).
Enrichment wise however, I have been to Salford, Greater Manchester to MediaCityUK to sit in the audience for some recordings of Countdown (October 2018), visited BBC Nottingham where BBC East Midlands Today and BBC Radio Nottingham are based twice (January 2019 and January 2020) and the talks from Jake Meskell and Clare Tavernor (March 2020), plus the talk from Manny Bahra too (March 2019). Also this week, during the Student Representative meeting we discussed the topics of "Quality of Online Teaching and Learning", "Support in Learning and Assessments", "Preparing and Progression", "Support and Wellbeing" and "Communication" which resulted in a good amount of feedback from the students and getting their point of view on the specific discussions across easily because of the clarity of their opinions.
I also posted what university I am studying at next year and what course I have enrolled onto which is Media Production at Bournemouth University (Academic Year 2020/2021) underneath Charlie's post asking for them so he can add it to our EILP's. Overall I feel like I have gotten an impressive and fulfilling amount of work finished to a very good standard this week so I am pleased and I also have no more work that I need to complete as I have finished unit 11 and I feel too creatively drained to attempt the optional creative task set on the Facebook group so I am done unless any other work arises. Therefore, I can say with confidence that everything I have managed to produce I am proud of and I will make sure I continue to keep the same quality control with all of my work in the future so I what I create is nothing less than good at the very least.
