On Tuesday 3rd December in Faye's lesson in the morning all of the groups pitched their ideas for the Secret Cinema and we picked the best pitch and the best film idea of the whole class. After everyone voted for the best idea for our group's interactive screening we then elected a producer who everyone agreed should definitely be Ella but I was then made Sub Team Leader of Interactive Actors and it was my responsibility to make sure everybody who was assigned the role of an actor was focused on the jobs they'd been given and they knew what they were doing what they needed to be doing as well as working out all of the prices for the costumes for the interactive screening and where we will buy the costumes from. The roles for everybody else in the class were as follows; Harry, Fiona and Whitney are part of the Catering Team, Main Members of the team are Matt, Rory, Aiden and Reegan, Support Members Bela, Kinga, Ella, Sam and Harry. Set and Prop Designers include the Sub Team Leader Robyn as well as the main members Kinga, Sam and the Support Member Jack. The Marketing Team Sub Team Leader is Bela and the main members are Jack and Tenzin and the Audio Visual Head is Aiden. The Set and Prop Designers also drew a layout on the board of how the room will be set out and where all of the props will be placed in the room. Ella then took the prices for the clothes that I gathered as well as the prices of all the food and drinks that we are going to purchase and made a spreadsheet with all of the information on it to make it easier to calculate how much everything will cost and if we can realistically afford it with the size of our budget.
In the afternoon because Rob's lesson was cancelled due to him being off as he was ill I spent my afternoon in college doing pre-production for my video installation and because I had finished and uploaded my shot list, storyboard, talent release form and call sheet on Monday already all I had to complete and upload was my visual plans, risk assessment form and my location recce and I was able to complete two of those pieces of pre-production that I aspired to complete but I was unable to finish the location recce but I finished the whole blog post Friday after I filmed my video installation. On Wednesday I briefly came into college to take a picture of some props that I had bought for my video installation (green face paint and facial sponges) and the receipt that came with it too and I spent about an hour in college writing a blog post about it. Then, once I left college I went to Tesco Express to buy a water bottle and a toothbrush but I forgot to get the receipt but I did buy them I just don't actually have any evidence to prove that I did. On Thursday in Marissa's lesson in the morning I worked on altering my proposal so that the demographic part of it included some of the common and essential types of audiences that are interested in video installations (from the sheet Marissa gave us on Audience Profiling) so that my proposal is of a better quality overall. I then spent the afternoon writing what a location recce is on a blog post before going to the shop and buying a sandwich, a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar as props for my video installation and making sure to pack and Xbox 360 controller to use as a prop for my video installation too. Then, eventually on Friday I took the images of the TV studio for my location recce, filmed my video installation without the use of the green face paint because I realized that it was not going to have the correct effect I want it to have on camera so I have added the addition of a pair of black gloves and a pair of black rimmed glasses and uploaded the images of the location to my blog and when I have uploaded the footage for my video installation to my hard drive and my Google Drive. On Friday I filmed the whole of my video installation in the morning in the TV Studio all by myself which is how I wanted to do it and I was very happy with the footage I filmed and I know I will be able to use what I got very well and interestingly I think.
Overall, I am very happy with how productive I was this week and I am truly pleased with the quality of the work that I got done and the quantity of what I was able to produce as well was very fulfilling and it makes me very optimistic going into editing my video installation next week and if all goes according to plan finish editing my video installation as well but even if not I am still looking forward to getting it completed when I do as I will know when it is edited to a point where it is at the quality I want it to be and even though my idea of painting my face and hands green and chroma keying a visually immersive pattern onto myself proved to be unsuccessful I have altered my idea to instead include the use of the video effects Color Balance (RGB), Color Balance (HLS) and/or Lumetri Color to oppose the relaxing pattern I will put on the green screen with a very intense and quite surreal looking aesthetic created by the video effects I will use in order to portray the feeling of being detached and disconnected in an environment that at its core is very tranquil and mesmerizing which makes me very excited about it.
